George Washington Bio


 George Washington was born February 22nd,1732 in Westmoreland County,Virginia.George grew up with his older brother because his father died when he was 11.His older brother inherited the plantation and he took care of George.Once George turned 16 he started working.He took the job of surveyor. He mapped out new lands.A few years later George became the leader of the militia of Virginia.Later he became involved in the French and Indian War which began in 1753.
        After the French and Indian War George settled down and married Martha Custis.Then after that  he took over the estate of Mount Vernon.George became a large land owner.Then he was elected to the Virginia legislature.George and his fellow legislators became upset with the British.They began to argue King George the III for rights but the British refused to go to war.George became General of the Continental Army when the war broke out!George led them to victory over the British.
After the war, Washington served the first two terms of the presidency.  During this time he created roles and traditions like the Fourth of July.  After two terms he retired and Sam Adams took his place.  Later Washington died on December 14, `1799.
